About Me
My connection to watercolour has been a steady source of comfort through difficult times, offering both calm and creative focus when it has been needed most. What began as a hobby has become a deeply personal way of expressing my feelings and finding peace through painting. I launched this website in July 2025 and my small 1 woman business was born! A personal thank you must go though, to my family - my husband and my 2 sons who have listened to my never ending questions, given me constructive criticism and believed in me - along with providing much needed ‘technical’ support when I needed it most.
For me, watercolour is more than a medium — it is a quiet companion and my studio is a place to return to enabling me to create art work both for myself and now my many customers, away from the world for a few hours. My work is inspired by the natural world, with subjects that include birds, bees, flowers, seascapes, and landscapes. I love the way watercolour develops on the page, with each wash and layer revealing something new.
The whole creative process is important to me, from the first spark of an idea to sketchbook planning and finally transferring those ideas to paper. I spend many hours sketching, thinking carefully about paint colours I’m going to use. The choice of watercolour paper is extremely important hot press? cold press? before even putting brush to paper along with the many different size brushes I need to use!
This thoughtful, deliberate approach allows each piece of artwork to grow naturally and reflect the care behind it, whether it be a simple small greetings card or a larger piece involving many colours with perspective and depth to consider. Every painting you see on my website is created with patience, intention, and a deep love for the subject. Each one really does have its own story of where I was, who I was talking to or what I might have seen that day.
Thank You for visiting today and supporting my small business.
