About Me

My love of watercolour painting began as I tried to, and still am, coming to terms with the emotional turmoil of losing my mum, dad and sister in a short space of time.

I have no formal art training but looking at art work by others helped me to heal a little. I just thought, maybe I can create through watercolour how I was feeling. Each piece of artwork you see on my website is painted from experiences I have had and places I have been. Each has its own story of my ongoing journey.

I’m inspired by our beautiful coastlines with my deep love of the sea. Along with the beauty of the Derbyshire Peak District which is close to my home. Flowers, birds, insects, and of course for those who know me well - giraffes are my absolute favourite to paint!

I wouldn’t be at this stage of starting my own little watercolour business without the never ending support from my husband and 2 sons. Their technical help navigating computers and emotional support when things get too much, enable me to go into my studio and get on doing what I love, creating watercolour artwork.
